I like this book because it is quite comprehensive. The first few chapters review basics such as classical control, norms, Lyapunov functions, etc., then the author devotes subsequent chapters to H2 (with LQG control as a special case), and H infinity techniques. The main reason I purchased the book is that I wanted a reference that had the traditional H2 and H infinity approaches presented, as well as the Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) approaches. There are also some nice design examples.
