(More customer reviews)The idea that a group of people could give up years of their lives in the pursuit of something so obviously fanciful as a pole to pole circumnavigation boggles the mind. I started to read this book just to understand what made these people tick; I continued to read because the book is well written and a great adventure tale. I recommend it highly for anyone interested in modern adventure and/or polar exploration.
