(More customer reviews)They are strong and durable. I had another pair of them before I bought these. You can remove them for security when not using your boat. They were kind of difficult to install in my alluminum boat because I had to reinforce the side and space it towards the inside. I used artificial decking material. Originally I used real decking but it eventually cracked. I would recommend these but you should have a plan as to how you will install them before you buy them. I may eventually buy more bases and install them in additional locations. I like the pole locks on this model. It gives you some added security when fishing.
