(More customer reviews)To be fair this rod was given to me by my late father-in-law. He took very good care of his gear and this rod appeared almost new. And, it is the bottom of Fenwick's lineup too.
Fished it for the first time this weekend. Very light-duty perch and rock bass perhaps a pound at most. Casting was OK with Mepps, Daredevils and the like. Sensitivity seemed good and "fighting action...well, I would not put the action of Saturday in the "fighting" category, so hard to evaluate there.
However, I snagged the bottom and while attempting a de-snag the rod snapped (about 6" down from the joint)with what I though was fairly little force applied. I've done this sort of thing hundreds of times over the course of the years with other rods and never had a rod break.
Gotta say, I am not impressed! Probably will go to St Croix or some other manufacturer before I'd go back to a Fenwick. Your mileage may vary. I know a lot of people feel these rods are a great value.
