There's no bigger quandary at off-the-grid campsites than figuring out the restroom/shower situation, especially if a bunch of family members or friends also made the trip. Enter the Paha Que Teepee, the camping industry's first fully equipped portable outhouse. Representing a common sense evolution in campsite restroom and shower facilities, the Teepee configures easily, with a patented color-coded fiberglass pole-sleeve and strap system that sets up in less than five minutes. More significantly, the Teepee is loaded with convenient features, including a no-see-um mesh roof and bottom side panels that provide proper ventilation; a removable mesh gear hammock that hangs overhead to hold a shower bag or toiletries; zippered "gear-access" portals on all three sides that let you hang dry your towel outside and still reach it from inside the Teepee; and wet and dry storage pockets inside to keep your shower accessories organized and handy.
The Teepee also includes a few shower-specific construction details, including two clear panels in the removable rainfly that allow you to easily heat a solar shower bag on sunny days, along with a detachable waterproof floor that's engineered to let shower water drain out. By removing the floor, however, you can shower directly on grass, or you can dig a latrine pit and turn the Teepee into a private outhouse--a must for families camping in wide-open spaces. You can even use the Teepee as a changing room. Designed to break down and store in an oversized 8-by-26-inch zippered carrying bag, the Teepee shelter weighs roughly 12 pounds. Paha Que sells such compatible accessories as a drain floor to capture shower runoff and a 5-gallon, solar-heated, pressurized PowerShower.

About Paha Que It all started with three guys and a tent. The three camping buddies who founded Paha Que began talking over evening campfires about how to build a better tent--one that wouldn't leak, but was roomy; one that offered headroom to folks who stand 6 feet or taller; and one that provided camping enthusiasts with the luxuries of home. So they discussed their idea to their friend Spike, Pamo Valley ranch foreman for the last 50 years. His reply? "Stop talkin' bout it, and get to it, dammit!" The fruits of their labor evolved into a company known today as Paha Que Wilderness and the trio's signature tent, the Pamo Valley. Paha Que is headquartered in Poway, California.
