I didn't want to miss a fish that could have gotten away if I was adjusting something with my first rod and wasn't paying attention. I have had success with Catch Alert while fishing the Cape Cod surf as well as fresh water lakes in California. You can use the Catch Alert as a Rod Holder also. It stakes into the sand or dirt area you are fishing from. I have enjoyed using Catch Alert so much, I plan on getting a 2nd device for my other rod. I can't wait to try this device in the winter for ice fishing.
