Have used them for light local hiking but got to give them the real test hiking in Colorado, and they get a big thumbs up. The Aergon handles feel like a firm foam rubber, and they're comfortable and sufficiently grippy - didn't have any problems with sweaty palms making them slip either. The straps are fully adjustable with a lock down tab on the handles and hold their place well. To adjust the length of the poles (which are made of three telescoping sections) you simply rotate the smaller section, adjust it in or out, and then rotate it back to lock it in place. They held their place just fine, which is not small feat given that I'm 6'2" and 225 lbs and had my 1 year old on my back when hiking. The tips seem durable and can flex a bit to allow for some stress without breakage...
Speaking of breakage, one of the poles actually had a section of the shaft that was cracked when I unboxed them. I called Leki and told them what happened, and within 48 hours had a replacement section delivered to my doorstep. I wasn't happy about the break, but the customer service could not have been better - and the poles have a lifetime warranty, so the great customer service means a lot. I am hoping the crack was a fluke and am encouraged as the poles have been trouble-free since then.
I'll knock one star off for the initial problem with the crack, but am tempted to give them 5 stars given the great customer service and satisfaction with my experience with them. These are simple (i.e., no anti-shock) poles that perform well and are backed by a company that stands behind their products. Recommended.
