(More customer reviews)I have longstanding neurological deficits and, therefore, a hard time getting around. We live on a beautiful farm, and I have not been able to walk around it for years and years. Our son gave me a pair of these for Christmas. I am not kidding myself, I'll never break any records, but with them I have been able to get around some areas of the farm again. As I write this, I have ordered more of these to use in the car. BTW I use them with the little shoe-like tips which seem to give me extra support.

(More customer reviews)These are sturdy sticks, but the friction adjustments don't work too well and the stick has a tendency to collapse. My freinds' do as well. They are also a bit too shock-lite even for shock lites, and have VERY little movement.

Leki Luau AERGON Trekking Poles Review

(More customer reviews)I got these for my wife, and she thinks they're gorgeous (I do, too). I think they're not as light and agile as my Leki carbon poles, but she thought those were too black and macho looking, and chose these. I've hiked around some with these Luaus, and they're very nice and comfortable with their soft, flexible, easily adjustable straps, and their dense cork grips which will only get more comfortable and better looking with time. The poles feel strong and responsive, and I doubt she'll ever want a different pair of poles.

(More customer reviews)Perfect pole for the smaller adult. Easy to collapse and expand. The speed-lock is a huge improvement over the older locking mechanism. My old poles of another brand had to be replaced because its locking mechanism slipped. This pole has a very comfortable grip but on extended hikes with lots of elevation gains, I add lightweight sports gloves to prevent blisters. The aluminum shaft is extremely durable, unlike the ultra light poles on the market that tend to bend and warp with heavy use. I also like this pole because it doesn't have an anti-shock feature which for me is just another moving part I don't need. This item is brilliant white which makes it easier to find if you accidentally drop it down a slope, or if you're sorting through gear in the backcountry (unless you`re hiking in snow.) Yet I'd prefer a muted color for stealth hiking. The indispensable hikers' aid -- a supply of duct tape wrapped around the shaft -- helps break up the visual.

(More customer reviews)I have been having trouble with lower back and some knee pain, especially when I have to be on my feet for a long period of time or out walking longer distances. The thought of buying a cane or a walking stick wasn't sitting all that well with me. I heard about this particular hiking pole on "No Agenda", the podcast featuring John C. Dvorak & Adam Curry. I was surprised at how reasonably priced it was and decided to give it a try. I have found that it has met and surpassed my expectations. It is completely adjustable, has a nice shock absorbing feature, and the built in flashlight, while a little bit geeky, has already come in handy on more than one occasion. If you are looking for a little extra help getting around that doesn't make you look old and out of it, this is definitely worth the price. And, while I haven't exactly been out hiking with it yet, the totally adjustable nature of this hiking pole makes it very easy to go from a walking stick to a full fledged hiking staff in just a few twists. This same feature also makes it easy to completely compact the staff for easy packing and traveling. I have two of these now, one that I keep in my car at all times, (in case I underestimate the amount of walking I am going to have to do on an outing), and one that I have at home for those "bad days". I highly recommend this to anyone who needs a walking stick/hiking pole. I hope that you will find it as useful and as helpful as I have.
