It is beautiful as a coffee table photo book, authoritative as a history of climbing in the desert, and interesting as a biography of the most eminent of desert climbers. Crusher's love of the desert shines throughout, and his wit keeps the text from ever becoming pedantic. Highly recommended, and destined to become a classic in the mountaineering library.
