My advice to the author: stay away from math, seriously, your knowledge of arithmetic leaves much to be desired.
My advice to the potential buyer: read the following paragraph and decide if you still want to buy it
On pages 74/75 he takes three numbers 365.25, 365 and 360 and multiplies them twice by 0.666666666
Later on page 79 he starts again with the same three numbers but now he multiplies them once by 11520
Finally on the next page he divides the latter three results by the former ones and he finds himself SHOCKED to find they all yield the same result: 25920
NO KIDDING! ...Pitiful.
Take ANY number X and multiply it Twice by 0.66666666 you get (0.44444444)X
Take the same X number and multiply it by 11520 you get (11520)X
If you divide the latter by the former THE X's CANCEL EACH OTHER and you end up with (11520)/(0.44444444) which will ALWAYS yield 25920 regardless of the number you start with.
Yet the astonished words from the author are: "The identical result of these calculations is the precession number, which made me break out in cold sweat"
Mr Geryl please stick to Archeology and find the labyrinth.

By now, we've heard all kinds of conflicting beliefs and opinions on what will become of mankind, the planet and life as we know it after December 21, 2012. The author, Daniel J. Gansle, is well educated in the area of Mayan culture, his university degree is in Cultural Anthropology with a concentration in Mesoamerican studies. He participated in a show on Mayan prophecy for the History Channel's documentary of 2009, Nostradamus Effect. Having viewed this documentary, I was especially looking forward to the more indepth research and interpretation I was certain would be in this book. I was definitely not disappointed by my high expectations of this book. In fact, I found it to be even more detailed, well written and fascinating than I could possibly have anticipated.
The book is divided into sections. The first section breaks down the background of the Mayans, giving the novice in the study of Mayan culture a broad base of understanding, yet also manages to share information that even those with some background in Mayan studies may be unaware of. The instruction offered to understand the Mayan Codices is exceptional, possibly the best I've seen. The next section, Prophecy, contains an outstanding explanation of New Age Movements to include harmonic convergence, psychic vision, channeling, astrology, numerology, UFOs, crop circles and more, each increasingly fascinating. This section also details the predictions of Nostradamus, galactic alignment, Planet X/Nibiru, pole shifts, timewave zero and more. The section that covers scriptual prophecy is very well done and complete, easy to understand and clarifying many common misconceptions. The book includes numerous figures, tables and illustrations, all equally informative and well written.
Regardless of your personal belief system or religious background, the author has presented an outstanding look at the 2012 debate.

THis is perhaps do to the polarizing nature of the subject and the many fears that people tend to harbor. I found this book to be very illuminating and a confirmation to something that I already knew from either other sources or from pure insight. But regardless of the numerous reviews here nothing can take away from the fact that the Mayan calendar ends in the year 2012? Coincidence? THe book was not written for a scientific journal, so it does sound speculative at times, but once you read and understand the implications and the sources from which the authors have drawn their data, it is highly illuminating.

(More customer reviews)Patrick Geryl is brutally honest in describing this Cataclysm in our near future. Just to give you a small sample found in the foreword:
"I clearly explained that life after a polar reversal is nothing but horror, pure unimaginable horror. All securities you presently have at hand such as food transportation and medicine will disappear in one big blow, as will our entire civilization, dissolved into nothingness. It cannot be more horrifying than this; worse than the worst nightmare. More destructive than a nuclear war in which the entire global arsenal of nuclear weapons has been deployed. Are you grasping the facts?
The earth will be subject to total destruction. It will be many times worse than my description. You will know terrible hunger, cold, and pain without the hope of a quick recovery; all knowledge and resources will have been completely destroyed. This will be the reality of your daily life after the forthcoming polar reversal. This is the scenario you will have to fight your way through in order to survive."
The author of this book states that a pole reversal/slip occurs every 11,500-12,000 years, caused by our sun's solar cycles that occur in this period of time. Geryl goes on to state that if you want to survive you need at least 12-18 thousand dollars minimum to purchase necessary items to survive and you need to pick the right location in the world which does not include North and South America. I gave this book 5 stars because I agree with almost everything Patrick Geryl says in this book except the following points.

Geryl states on page 96-97 that after the pole shift of 2012, the United States and Canada will be located under the Artic circle (the new South Pole) and North America will be under glaciers just like the last ice age. I don't agree with his logic on this. Another item I disagree with is, what our future population should be limited to because more people, means more pollution. Geryl states that no more than 100 million people should occupy the earth which is an extreme position in my opinion. Even the N.W.O. people say 500 million people are optimal. The world can sustain 1 or 2 billion people easily and should be limited to this. Geryl also states that just before the next polar flip the population of earth should be culled to a mere 100,000 people. That is just absurd; almost as crazy as his suggestion that venereal disease can be cured by fasting for 16 days (page 107). Geryl is a vegetarian that believes in a fruit and vegetable diet and wants to ban many industries in the coming new world which include slaughterhouses, tobacco companies, candy companies, chemical companies (pesticides and herbicides), food companies that process food, and limit the size of cities (avoiding tall buildings) in the pursuit of a much happier society. On page 128, Geryl says:
"A strong central authority will have to issue strict laws for starting companies and the use of raw materials. This is the only way to prevent ecological catastrophes. Furthermore, we need to make sure that people can earn money, but cannot become rich."
If I survive this pole shift/reversal, I do not want Geryl in charge of the new world, that's for sure. I value freedom and Geryl, being from Belgium, has a different perspective on what freedom is. And finally, contrary to Geryl, I believe that most governments know of this coming catastrophe and have been preparing for it for years. The USA, China, and Russia have massive underground cities all over the world. I think that most of the underground cities will perish in the coming polar shift, but some will survive. Two years before 2012 Geryl states he will publish this book for free on the web which proves he is sincere and really believes the end of the world is at hand.

It is interesting to know how scientist has determined that the poles have reversed and that this will happen again sooner or later. I also enjoyed the facts about the position of the geomagnetic poles and how it is produced.

(More customer reviews)In this book, author William Hutton analyzes Edgar Cayce's startling psychic predictions for coming earth changes. As a degreed geologist and student of Cayce, I found the author's careful analysis of earth change readings the most complete and scientific ever documented. Cayce spoke of upheavals in Utah, Nevada, and southern California which conform to what we now know about seismo-tectonics in these areas. This information was developed by geoscientists years after Cayce gave his "readings" for the western region.
Some of Cayce's more catastrophic predictions suggest that "Los Angeles, San Francisco, most all of these will be among those that will be destroyed before New York even." Under "most all of these" apparently vulnerable places Hutton describes what can happen to the cities of the northwestern states, like Seattle and Portland, if Earth's tectonic plates suddenly accelerate in their movement in response to a pole shift. Here again, the author draws upon the latest geophysical information to explain how such predictions are not only possible, but probable, should Cayce's pole shift occur.
Possible physical, mental, and spiritual causes of potential Earth changes are covered as well. This book is perhaps the most thorough analysis of Cayce's earth change readings ever written and is well worth a careful read by anyone curious about the psychic's predictions for our planet.

(More customer reviews)I'm not as phlegmatic about this title as the other commentators. I really liked it: the author, an obvious Cayce disciple, covers a variety of theories from Hapgood to Velikovsky and beyond -- all the while making it clear that "to make the case is not to prove the theor(ies)." In fact, I am surprised that none of the other reviewers picked up on the most unexpected feature of all: his "epilogue" that one might easily miss because it falls AFTER his index (a most unusual placement: I've never seen that before).
Strangely, White's conclusion turns out to be this loopy, apologetic "por mi culpa" that can be summarized thusly: "Well, folks, we're well into the 1990's, the poles haven't shifted yet. Cayce must have been wrong. I guess it's never going to happen, after all. Oh well, we still had a swell time reviewing the catastrophic possibilities, didn't we?" He goes so far as to quote from John Perry's "The Heart of History" -- in essence, saying that these theories arise because we have a psychological need to come up with these "end time" scenarios.
I disagree.
In fact, I will go so far as to say that White is the eschatological version of a Harry Dent: "You had it right the first time, mister. You should have stayed the course." Just because the Pole Shift hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean that it won't. And whether that huge planetary event is 5 years away or 100 years or 5,000 years away, the fact remains that it has occurred repeatedly over the life of this planet and it will again. He had it right ... before he decided to add the epilogue. In view of the strange "earth changes" we are already witnessing now (present tense, not future tense), I believe this book -- pre-Index -- deserves a fresh read.

(More customer reviews)With clarity and passion, Marshall Masters has applied courage, intelligence, vision and leadership to face one of the most difficult situations any human group will (or has ever faced), on this planet. Earth changes and planet shifts are not popular topics. (I have been in this field myself..off and on...for about twenty years, so I know it from personal experience). Its as controversial as a topic gets.
That said, I still think that Marshall Masters has the most cohesive, comprehensive, viable and useful plan to get us
through troubling and turbulent times.
I have read his Planet X 2012 Survival Guide (recommended for laying a practical and historical understanding of this
cosmic event) and also have read Indigo- ET Connection. I see Marshall Masters as one of the most innovative and clear thinkers of
our generation. To place this in context, you need to know that Marshall has been a software designer and is capable of successfully applying his logical left brain to difficult problems. Marshall's clear focus and thoroughness show through vividly as he outlines an intergalactic survival plan in Crossing the Cusp' final chapter. His vision, I believe, can shift our outcome using gentle, beautiful, holistic inspiring tools. If you read the book, you can learn about it and commit to participation. Its called "ProjectEarthSave48". I know it can work if enough of us get on board in time.
In my opinion, if you could only read one book this year, Crossing the Cusp would be your most elegant and viable choice. It might
literally save your life, and the life of our species.
Books are tools that take us from one point of knowledge/awareness to another. Some drop us back but others are power lifters to
bring us to a whole new paradigm. This book literally lifts you to the stars.
I found it to be a page turner. I found it to be eloquent. I found it to be inspiring. I found it to be hopeful. Despite some
gloomy prospects (if we don't get our act together), it does not leave us in the ditch.
I suspect if someone were writing a book a few months before the Bubonic Plague hit Europe in the 1500's and it said: "There is
something ugly and dangerous coming that will kill many of us, unless: we clean up our cities, install proper sewage drains,
control the rat population, eat a lot of garlic, wash our hands, isolate the sick, and educate our selves in the best way to
control disease"....we're going to have a rough patch. If they then delivered it to every leader, family, church, school, museum, dance hall, tavern and village ---copies of that book (even if only presented in pictures for the illiterate), and IF those folks took the time to read and apply the material, its possible we'd not still be studying how the Plague killed millions of people in the Dark Ages.
Do I think this book is important? I do. (You can read my other 85+ reviews on Amazon to discern my value system, if you're curious).
How IMPORTANT do I think Crossing the Cusp is?
I could envision Marshall Master's face on the cover of Time Magazine on the "backside" of this cosmic event and announced as the
first post-pole shift winner of the Intergalactic Nobel Peace Prize.
I look forward to a lively discussion of your thoughts about this amazing and useful book.

It is my feeling that Crossing the Cusp will be THE seminal book for galvanizing our positive efforts IN TIME to save us from

"survivor".
