I found this book really helpful with it's clear photographs and succinct descriptions of movements. There is nothing too technical here and everything is explained in easy-to-understand text, with accompanying photographs.
The photography is quite exemplary. In showing a trot-to-halt transition it clearly shows the 'stages' of the transition and in shoulder-in, there is a great picture taken from above the rider and the movement and angle is clearly seen.
The contents cover Schooling, flatwork, lateral work, polework, jumping and western riding and all with great photographs of 'explanation'.

This book is my bible, i have 3 or 4 copies: one for the barn, one for my house, and spares in case i leave one out in the rain (I have done so already). It is the best method ever, simple, straight forward, progressive. This method really works. It eliminated having to think about what i should do when i want to jump... I LOVE IT

U.S. Three-Day Event Team veteran James Wofford shares his secrets for training great jumpers. He assures riders that horses who are taught to jump using a gymnastic system soon become confident and efficient over fences. Whether you are just learning to jump or you are a seasoned expert, Wofford provides ample exercises for setting up your horse to succeed over fences. JAMES WOFFORD is one the world’s leading experts on gymnastic jumping. 101 Jumping Exercises for Horse & Rider Review

I haven't even finished reading this book yet, but I just have to say how fabulous it is. I have just started my youngster over fences and have found this guide invaluable already, with 25 exercises involving just ground poles, it is already well used. The exercises build up in difficulty so you are always making progress and at the same time having fun and educational schooling sessions with your horse. I think there is something for everyone, beginner to advanced.
As a budget conscious rider training predominantly on my own, I have found these types of guides priceless (see my other reviews) and they have really helped me to formulate a schooling plan each week and our progress has been very rewarding. I noticed that other riders at the barn were using the poles I left out in the arena and so I started posting the excercises on the bulleting board each week - inspiring everyone and creating great feedback and support. I know this is a book I will get a lot of use out of!
