I don't know if they make these in different colors. However, the one I received is a metallic silver color that looks almost as bad as if the product were a stainless steel cane. If you are trying to mask the cane appearance, this product is lousy. I have seen these elsewhere with a tasteful brown or black color. Don't buy this, unless you want to look astronaut equipment.

African Walking Stick 37 in. Review

African Walking Stick 37 in.
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I recenty acquired this stick for the express purpose of carrying it while walking my dogs. Lets face it, it is designed as a discreet weapon. As such, I was very impressed with it. The polypropylene is extremely resillient giving the stick plenty of strength yet keeping the weight down. I usually carry it tucked under one arm swagger stick-style but do use it for weight bearing when traversing inclined terrain. My one and only criticism of the stick is the unique polygonal handle. When used extensively as a true walking support item, the shape tends to press a bit uncomfortably on the palm. Those seeking a true walking aid might be better suited using a pistol grip style handle for weight support. With that said, the polygonal handle is very rugged and well suited for devastating target areas if the weapon was to be used for combat purposes. One other minor point of note, this stick is VERY intimidating and could draw unwanted police attention depending on your area. The Cold Steel Blackthorn stick might look somewhat more natural and draw less attention.
In conclusion, this stick is awesome and I will rarely leave home without it. Already just brandishing it at a pack of wild dogs was enough to fend off a potential attack. Considering the price and durability of this stick, I would highly recommend it. Perfect for the average person strolling about, just a tad uncomfortable on the palm for those needing a true weight bearing walking stick. For the price, you can't go wrong.

Twisted Aromatic Cedar Review

Twisted Aromatic Cedar
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Anyone that does any real hiking at all knows the value of having a good walking stick along. To see someone just strolling up an easy walking path with the stick keeping time it may seem like its just a decorative and nostalgic item. But in truth a walking stick evolved from its many uses that one encounters when walking or hiking a wilderness trail. It helps one keep their balance on uneven trails, crossing a stream, traversing hillsides, and can even help with taking some of the weight off your feet when carrying a heavy load. Anyone who hikes with a stick will easily fill in a number of good uses that they will naturally encounter. Everything from brushing aside briars and thick foliage to preventing a fall and being the centerpiece of your tent. Over the years I have owned perhaps a dozen or more walking sticks, all of which have been made from good strong branches I have found along the trail. I enjoy stripping and sanding the sticks myself, and then varnishing them to a high tough shine. I never considered actually buying one for real use on hikes.
This past Christmas I got this cedar stick as a gift. Usually I would consider any store bought walking stick to be of a decorative nature. I have another one that I picked up years back that is nice to look at but not very functional. This cedar stick is definitely an exception. It is a very handsome looking and solid staff, as well as strong enough for actual use on a real hike. Unlike some of the other walking sticks available here on Amazon, this stick is completely stripped where you grip it and buffed down to a very smooth surface. (An absolute essential when doing rugged hiking since the slightest bump or imperfection where you grip the staff will become terribly irritating over time). It is just thick enough for most people to form a good solid hold on without it being flimsy, and it takes a good amount of pressure to bend it. Indeed, its twisted design actually offers the benefit of giving it added strength over a straight stick. Cedar never rots, so even if you use this stick for some very heavy wilderness hiking and the finish wears off, it will not deteriorate and lose strength. So feel free to refinish it many times over. At the time of this writing it came in 3 different lengths, so you can tailor it to yourself or for the recipient. (I recommend purchasing the 55" stick for most folks. Better to be too long than too short).
In conclusion, whether you are in the market for a rustic addition to your den, or actually are interested in a store bought stick for everyday use or hiking, I highly recommend this cedar stick. It is in my opinion that it is very much worth the price asked, and that you will be very pleased with its looks, strength, and usefulness...

The Twisted Aromatic Cedar Walking Stick is easily one of the most resplendent hiking staffs in our line. Its red and purplish hues, often coupled with cream-colored sapwood, swirl beautifully down this staff, while our trademark twist, with its subtle elegance, accentuates the natural beauty of this unique hiking stick. To bolster its stability, we make the Twisted Aromatic Cedar Walking Stick from three pieces of 3/8-inch, laminated aromatic cedar board. Each stick is then carefully cut to size, sanded, and sprayed with a protective clear coat lacquer. The resulting staff is lightweight, beautiful, and highly functional. The Twisted Aromatic Cedar Waking Stick's unique characteristics make it an ideal companion for general walking and hiking. (One caveat: the Twisted Aromatic Cedar is not a hardwood and tends to be softer than most woods.)

I had been looking for a rustic looking walking stick, yet heavy enough to support my husband. This was just the item I was looking for. My biggest fear was it would not be heavy. I was thrilled when it arrived I found it to be sturdy! I loved the design. The handle is also easy for him to grip and also provides that sense of support he needs. He didn't not want a traditional cane nor did he want anything with ball on the top that you see in most rustic designs. This was perfect!

LEKI Super Micro Travel Cane Review

LEKI Super Micro Travel Cane
Average Reviews:

Purchased for use on a trip to Europe where I would be doing a lot of walking. With a mild case of MS, I often need some support when I am on my feet a long time, but do not want to carry a full-size cane. This looked ideal. However, it buckled and collapsed when I first put the slightest bit of weight on it. The bottom tube is simply too small. I have written Leki twice, but get no response.
I summary, it may look cool, but pretty worthless. A disappointment considering I have two Leki full length hiking poles that have handled my full weight with a backpack on.LATER NOTE: After complaining to Consumer Produce Safety Commission, I finally heard from Leki. They sent me two replacement parts, along with a free cane that was bigger and heavier (only had one extension piece rather than the two this had).

Light and sturdy, the LEKI Super Micro cane collapses to a super-short 17.7 inches making it ultra-convenient to take it along on all your travels. Taking advantage of wider thread patterns and steeper-angled lock adjustments, the SLS design allows for quicker and easier adjustments and is up to 60 times more secure than other locking systems. The SLS locking system is far less prone to loosening while in use, giving you peace of mind even in challenging situations. LEKI's Cor-Tec grip is made from 80% natural ground cork and 20% latex making it lightweight, strong and comfortable. The carbide flex tip deflects up to 30 degrees without damaging the lower pole section. This reduces the risk of shaft breakage if the cane should get caught between rocks or tree roots. Lock the antishock system on the Leki Thermolite Antishock Trekking Poles on your hike up, and turn the shock-absorbing system on for your downhill journey. The antishock system eases strain on your arms and shoulders as you hike down, but this system will rob power from you on the uphill, which is why it's key to use the Thermolite Trekking Poles' antishock on/off switches. Leki made these trekking poles with slight bends in the upper shaft sections so your wrists maintain neutral, relaxed positions as you hike. Adjust the Thermolite Antishock Poles to the right height for uphill and downhill sections of trail. A mix of aluminum and titanium on the shafts of these poles reduces weight.Product Features

I got the Leki Super Micro travel cane to protect a recovering knee during a long trip. The adjustable length meant I could keep it in my bag ready for challenging conditions, from uneven country lanes to sidewalks. It increased my mobility, speed, and confidence and cut down on discomfort. I walked a lot and came home feeling better than when I left.

I've been hiking for 40 years and usually have used free walking "sticks" so was a little skeptical about spending 150 bucks for store-bought. But....after using these poles on my last 4 outings (total about 50 miles of Northern California Trinity Alps Wilderness) I'm convinced they have taken 10-20% of the strain/stress off my knees and overall energy consumption on hard uphill/downhill/stream crossings. For flat walking you don't much need them but for all the other conditions they are great! Easily adjustable, lightweight, and since I've been hiking solo more, they allow me to feel more safe when hiking on difficult trail conditions. I'd reccomend them for any age hiker. The anti-shock feature really works.

I have longstanding neurological deficits and, therefore, a hard time getting around. We live on a beautiful farm, and I have not been able to walk around it for years and years. Our son gave me a pair of these for Christmas. I am not kidding myself, I'll never break any records, but with them I have been able to get around some areas of the farm again. As I write this, I have ordered more of these to use in the car. BTW I use them with the little shoe-like tips which seem to give me extra support.

I got these for my wife, and she thinks they're gorgeous (I do, too). I think they're not as light and agile as my Leki carbon poles, but she thought those were too black and macho looking, and chose these. I've hiked around some with these Luaus, and they're very nice and comfortable with their soft, flexible, easily adjustable straps, and their dense cork grips which will only get more comfortable and better looking with time. Very handy for keeping poles in the house, and the strap lengthens for wear across the body to more evenly distribute the weight if you get tired of using your poles on long walks, and don't have a daypack with pole holders. Perfect pole for the smaller adult. Easy to collapse and expand. The speed-lock is a huge improvement over the older locking mechanism. My old poles of another brand had to be replaced because its locking mechanism slipped. This pole has a very comfortable grip but on extended hikes with lots of elevation gains, I add lightweight sports gloves to prevent blisters. The aluminum shaft is extremely durable, unlike the ultra light poles on the market that tend to bend and warp with heavy use. I also like this pole because it doesn't have an anti-shock feature which for me is just another moving part I don't need. This item is brilliant white which makes it easier to find if you accidentally drop it down a slope, or if you're sorting through gear in the backcountry (unless you`re hiking in snow.) Yet I'd prefer a muted color for stealth hiking. The indispensable hikers' aid -- a supply of duct tape wrapped around the shaft -- helps break up the visual.
