Enjoy better traction while on the snowshoe trail with these Atlas adjustable two-section poles. Offering a maximum length of 130 cm, the poles make it easy to establish a rhythm on your hike whether you're trekking through thick powder or navigating icy conditions. The poles are constructed of lightweight, seamless aluminum tubing, with alpine powder baskets and steel flex tips helping you find your balance in uneven and technical terrain. The poles are also easy to hold thanks to the gender-specific plastic grips and the adjustable hand straps. Best of all, the snowshoe poles collapse into a compact footprint for easy packing. The Atlas poles--which weigh 1.3 pounds total--carry a limited lifetime warranty.
About Atlas Snowshoes Winner of the American Alpine Institute Guides' Choice award since 1996, Atlas snowshoes are the performance choice for professional guides, outdoor enthusiasts, snowshoe racers, and even the Special Operations Forces of the U.S. military. The Atlas story began in 1990, when founder Perry Klebahn--who was looking to snowshoeing to help recover from a motorcycle injury--grew frustrated with contemporary snowshoe designs. Klebahn soon developed his own ideas and created a revolutionary new snowshoe as the theses project for his graduate engineering degree from Stanford University's product design program. Applying for patents on the original Atlas snowshoe, Klebahn was awarded the first patent granted for snowshoes in over 40 years. As development continued, innovations such as the dual crampon design and Spring-Loaded Suspension System became tenets of Atlas snowshoe designs and helped revolutionized the sport. Based in Seattle, Atlas has been awarded 19 patents, from heel cleats to contoured footbeds, SureClick buckles, frame-frame tail joints, and the company's latest--the elliptical cross-section tubing that provides the strength and durability of the company's 7075 ReactiV frames.

Redfeather 36 Hike Control Recreational Snowshoe Kit with Poles and Bag Review

I have only used My Redfeather snow shoes twice so far but they seem to work well. Not quite as stylish as some of the other brands, but they work as they are supposed too. I use them to hunt coyotes in central Minnesota, I like to get off the road 1/2 mile or so and with this years deep snow they were a must. Kind of wish I didn't buy the poles as I have not used them, but oh well at least I have them if I ever want too.

Our industrious nature is so refined, so focused, so supremely acute, it demands that we clear our heads with extremely intense adventures in the snowy landscape. Yes, that's right. The kind of adventures that require a serious, hard-working snowshoe that eats up mile after mile of deep-snow-covered trail. And an aggressive crampon design that increases stability on tricky descents.SIZE: model 25 | weight (Ultra/Pilot II): 3.5 lbs./4.5 lbs. user weight: up to 175 lbs. model 30 | weight (Ultra/Pilot II): 3.8 lbs./4.8 lbs. user weight: up to 220 lbs. model 35 | weight (Ultra/Pilot II): 5.6 lbs./6.3 lbs. user weight: over 220 lbs. Crescent Moon Trekking Poles Review

Crescent Moon Trekking Poles
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These poles arrived very quickly and were as advertised. I have used trek poles for years in doing archaeology in the Flint Hills and I wanted poles to use for urban walks on concrete and asphalt. I got these poles because they were advertised as "shock absorbing". Maybe I should have done a little more research. Shock absorbing can barely be felt with the poles, which I have not tried out in the field yet. So the 3 star rating is less the capability of the poles as the description being less than I felt would have told me that when we talk about absorbing shock, we are talking about a "give" of 1.0 to 1.5 cm. These poles are a little heavier than my old ones so I'm not sure what my arms will feel like after a day in the field with them. I am sure they will give me the same service in the Flint Hills of Kansas and Oklahoma that my old ones have done. For anyone who has not used trekking poles before, be sure and do your homework.

MSR Overland Carbon Trekking Pole Review

100% utilitarian and light as a feather! Mine have not seen "rugged" use (as of the time of this writing), but handle my weight (240) with ease under urban conditions. Based on over-all build and other observations, these trekking poles are "tough as nails"; I see no issues on the trail either. Although not cheap, if you're weight conscious when camping/hiking, they are worth every penny.

Redfeather 3-Section Telescoping Poles Review

Redfeather 3-Section Telescoping Poles
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These red feather snowshoe poles were of the telescoping type recommended for the sport. However, they collapse every few minutes no matter how much they are retightened. We were forced to go get poles in town after trying these, and were happy to find others that did not collapse.

The Redfeather Three-Section Telescoping Poles are highly compact trekking poles that compress their length for easy transport. The lightweight, stable poles are made from 7075-T6 aluminum and are very reliable in all conditions. These three-section poles feature clear anatomical grips, swivel baskets, and cool red graphics. They expand from 25-to-55 inches to fit almost any sized person.
About Redfeather Redfeather Snowshoes was founded in 1988 by a snow-bound triathlete with the idea of designing a better snowshoe that would allow racers to train during the snowy Colorado winter months. His original design became the legendary Redfeather Redtail, the lightweight aluminum V-tail snowshoe that transformed snowshoeing from an awkward mode of transportation into the modern sport that we all know today. Located in Denver, Colorado, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Redfeather continues to strive for technical innovation, performance, and unsurpassed quality in all of its snowshoes.

MSR Denali III Trekking Poles Review

MSR Denali III Trekking Poles
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Okay, honestly, I would have given this product a rating of 5 stars except for one little thing: you have to attach the gaskets to the poles yourself, and if you don't do it correctly, you will lose them. I thought I had attached both of these properly, but on my first snowshoe trip with them, one of the gaskets was lost in the snow. My husband & I retraced our steps, but never found the missing piece.
I haven't called to see if I can get a replacement from the company, but I don't anticipate there will a problem. If there is, I will update this review.
For the record, the poles themselves are light & of great quality & I am looking forward to many happy treks together. Also, if you're looking for snowshoes, MSR Denali are the BEST I've ever used! Our scout troop uses them, my daughter & I have red ones, and my eldest son & husband have black. Eventually our other 3 kids will have their own too.
