(More customer reviews)I purchased my Lil'Mynx rotator pole 2 yrs ago & I have had nothing but problems. After about 2 months it would make a horrible sqeaking noise as it spun.
6 months in, the spring popped and destroyed my ceiling.
Today I went to put it up & the base has broken.
I wish I had spent the extra money and purchased an Xpole or a Platinum Stages.

The "Rotator" has a smart designed bearing assembly in the base that allows the pole to rotate freely. X-Pole Dance Pole 45mm set SPORT MODEL Review

(More customer reviews)Before you buy, be aware this is NOT a spinning pole. It is a stationary pole. I did not know this when I purchased it (it's not really mentioned here), so it was rather expensive to swap out for the pole I actually wanted (due to shipping).
In good news, X-pole makes good poles. The design is sturdy, does not take a large amount of space, and is fairly easy to put together. You might need a little help lifting it up in the end, just to be safe, but otherwise, any lady could assemble this easily. It took me about half an hour.
In bad news, this surface is Extremely Slippery. Even with "Mighty Grip" or "Dry Hands", you tend to slide off after a short amount of climbing/doing tricks.
Stationary vs Spinning:
If you are an awesome gymnast, capable of untold feats on the pole, or if you don't mind looking completely stupid, stationary is fine. What do I mean? Well, with a spinning pole, even simple things most people can do look pretty neat, just because you are spinning at the same time. It's a pleasant distraction that tricks your audience (even if the audience is just you or some girlfriends) into thinking "wow, that looks neat". On the other hand, when the pole does not spin, everything looks a little less glamorous and interesting, so unless you can bust out some crazy moves and have the flexibility of saltwater taffy, you just won't look good. Trust me. We had a party, and none of my friends felt great about how things went, and half of us are either dancers or gymnasts. Moral of the story: if you are going to spend money on a good pole, like an X-Pole, go ahead and get a spinning one; otherwise, just get one of those crappy cheap ones.
I recommend the Xpert 50 mm Titanium Gold. It spins and has a slightly less slippery surface, and the thicker pole (as opposed to 45mm) makes it easier to grip with your legs, so you can do more climbs and hang on with your body. It's $100 more, but well worth it,

Mighty Grip Pole Dance Glove with Tack Review

(More customer reviews)I ordered 1 of each type of glove because I didn't know what would work best. The "tacky" one is not good for me (the palm is basically "pleather/vinyl" type skin), so I used the non-tack glove. The first thing that bugged me was that there was a seam that went across the palm. Why on earth there is a seam on the palm of a glove where the palm is extensively used, I have no idea. However, it didn't bug me too much and I got used to it.
I have used the non-tack gloves TWICE and they are already falling apart. The seam on the palm is coming undone and the seam around the thumb and on the wrist is undone as well. Like I said, I have used them TWICE and I won't be able to use them again. I am very disappointed in the quality of the glove.
I don't feel that I can return the gloves because I've already used them although I will be returning the tack one. I thought everyone should know what an inferior product this is and to save your money.

However, after 2 weeks of use, it is already ripping around the seams where the velcro is sewn on :( Obviously the cushion effect isn't affected by this, but I'm disappointed to say the least that it is showing signs of wear after such a short period of time. I guess that's what we get for buying the discounted mats! Hopefully the full price ones don't tear as easily!

I could have honestly put it up by myself actually its so easy especially with the instruction dvd which was awesome. But he was being nice and helping :) hehe. So easy to assemble!
I was originally looking at buying the X-pole that my friend has, and its one of the best out there but its also 300$ plus 30$ shipping! So I was hoping to find something cheaper but same quality, and almost lost hope till I found this!!!
It is extremely sturdy. I live in an aprtment with a somewhat not great ceiling. And though I don't know if I would recommend this to everyone because your carpet could be different from mine and not work since its prolly meant for hardwood floors...but I don't have hardwood floors big enough! So we put it on the carpet and it is just fine! So if you have the same problem and don't have a hardwood or concrete floor, try it on your carpet and just test it out to be sure its sturdy before using so you don't fall!
If I didn't live in an apartemtn (where I cannot put holes in the ceiling), I would screw it in. It gives you that option too, to screw it into the ceiling to make it stay put permanently(well until you unscrew it) so you wouldn't have to fear it falling if you are still worried about that or you're a bit heavy...although I doubt it will fall anyway. We put it up without the screws, just locked it into place and I was up on it without it budging! My husband weighs 175 lbs and jumped on it to test it to make sure, and it didn't budge either!
I am very beginner, but recommend this to anyone even the advanced or intructor! Its that great! I am now looking to purchase a dvd maybe, but look online. On youtube I found a slew of intructional videos with moves. I have already favorited 165 moves to learn from there! And bonus, thats free :)Try this one you will not be dissappointed. I mean if you have the money you could buy a more expensive one like the X-Pole or others that are up to 500$. But even if you could, why wouldn't you want to save money? Its not like you're settling for less, because this is just as good!!! Plus, you get the ease of portability, with the option of permanent.
If you are going to use it for portability you get a really great cute storage bag that is black with purple writing on it. Its very nice quality and was a nice gift with the purchase!
With this amazing pole, I will be advanced and upside down in no time! I already have a great figure but this will have me Carmen Electrified very soon. This really works you out and makes you very strong. I felt it after my first go on it!
I'm sooo happy! Thank you Carmen!!!!

(More customer reviews)I recently bought the Peekaboo pole dancing kit at Spencer's for $80, and I've enjoyed using it, both as a source of exercise and entertainment for my significant other.
People expecting this to be on par with the much more expensive pole sets that actually install into your ceiling will be disappointed - but for only $80-100 (the cheapest pole prices on the market that I've seen), what do you expect? If you wanted something sturdier for more advanced pole tricks, a beginner's kit shouldn't have been your first stop.
In short, this is a great pole for beginning dancers, or people who live in an apartment/other non-permanent housing and don't have the ability to actually install a pole. This pole does not allow you to swing around it or hang on it, but you can still use it quite effectively for basic dance routines.

(More customer reviews)The pole was terribly easy to install...it would have been easier if I had a drill, but as it was I got it up and using it within minutes. The hardest part was finding a stud in the ceiling but I believe that was more operator error. Now that I installed the more permanent fixture I can take it down and store it in...maybe two minutes. So if I have company over, or my parents, I need not worry. It is great, sturdy, and you feel safe. Also the permanent attachment on the ceiling comes with a decorative hook so that you don't have to explain away the little clip. It is such a great pole. I am using it for exercise and dancing, but I definitely feel as though this pole could easily handle aeriels. Also, it does come with a friction based set up, so you don't have to drill into the ceiling.
