6 months in, the spring popped and destroyed my ceiling.
Today I went to put it up & the base has broken.
I wish I had spent the extra money and purchased an Xpole or a Platinum Stages.

The "Rotator" has a smart designed bearing assembly in the base that allows the pole to rotate freely. It also has a lockout pin that will lock the pole into place and make the pole stationary when desired. It's like 2 poles in 1! (More customer reviews)Before you buy, be aware this is NOT a spinning pole. It is a stationary pole. I did not know this when I purchased it (it's not really mentioned here), so it was rather expensive to swap out for the pole I actually wanted (due to shipping).
In good news, X-pole makes good poles. The design is sturdy, does not take a large amount of space, and is fairly easy to put together. You might need a little help lifting it up in the end, just to be safe, but otherwise, any lady could assemble this easily. It took me about half an hour.
In bad news, this surface is Extremely Slippery. Even with "Mighty Grip" or "Dry Hands", you tend to slide off after a short amount of climbing/doing tricks.
Stationary vs Spinning:
If you are an awesome gymnast, capable of untold feats on the pole, or if you don't mind looking completely stupid, stationary is fine. What do I mean? Well, with a spinning pole, even simple things most people can do look pretty neat, just because you are spinning at the same time. It's a pleasant distraction that tricks your audience (even if the audience is just you or some girlfriends) into thinking "wow, that looks neat". On the other hand, when the pole does not spin, everything looks a little less glamorous and interesting, so unless you can bust out some crazy moves and have the flexibility of saltwater taffy, you just won't look good. Trust me. We had a party, and none of my friends felt great about how things went, and half of us are either dancers or gymnasts. Moral of the story: if you are going to spend money on a good pole, like an X-Pole, go ahead and get a spinning one; otherwise, just get one of those crappy cheap ones.
I recommend the Xpert 50 mm Titanium Gold. It spins and has a slightly less slippery surface, and the thicker pole (as opposed to 45mm) makes it easier to grip with your legs, so you can do more climbs and hang on with your body. It's $100 more, but well worth it,

X-Pole SPORT 50mm Set - Titanium Gold (TG) Set Review

Before ordering the X Pole Titanium Gold in 50mm, I did a lot of research before finally deciding on this pole. Its predecessor, X Pole Chrome despite the same ease of installation and non-permanence as the TG, lacks the grip of brass poles. Brass, as I understand it is too malleable to be used as a removable pole yet stainless steel, it all its sturdy splendor does not provide the grip attributed to brass.
My father, a metallurgist by profession explained to me that it's very difficult to coat stainless steel. How X Pole Titanium Gold has resolved the issue of grip vs. stability. I would say the X Pole Titanium Gold exhibits 85%-90% the gripping power of traditional brass. It is also far more stable and stronger than brass. Brass, installed as a permanent pole can creak and give a little when enough weight/force is exerted upon it. My pole has been up for nearly a month, with nearly daily use and it has yet to budge or creak. I weigh about 120lbs but my friend and I have together tried to shake the pole out of its installation but fortunately to no avail.
The original X Pole Chrome, was a great pole but if one lacks the strength in her hands, climbing and gripping becomes an issue. I could not climb half way up the Chrome version without sliding yet, the traditional brass one, I stuck to like white on rice. The X Pole Titanium Gold is perhaps the compromise between the two, yet it still retains qualities of both metals. You lose a bit of the grip but you gain stability. Some may say brass has too much grip and impedes the ability for one to spin and pivot, so a reduction in grip could serve to be quite beneficial.
The spinning mode is super easy to adjust to with the removal of 2 small bearings in the base, just be careful not to lose these. Response of the pole is satisfactory, though the more you weigh, obviously the more momentum you gain.
The only draw back I see, despite its tendency to get smothered in visible finger prints (something not attributed to the chrome version) is the durability of the electronic coating. I noticed a few spots that have rubbed off which could be due to having abraded by the metal on someone's clothing. If you don't do so already, I would remove all jewelry and avoid wearing any clothing with metal, including zippers, studs, and grommets.
I love this pole and believe it was a great investment for a removable pole, installation was super simple if you just follow the written directions and video. The learning curve is extremely sharp and once you install it, it will take you hardly any time to remove it and install it again the next time. Though I installed it by myself, I would recommend having someone assist you as it's a real ache getting the thing stabilized and simultaneously turning a wrench. If you have higher than 9 foot ceilings, there are extensions available from vendors to adjust it to greater heights.
I am not a dancer by profession but love doing pole work to get in shape, so please keep in mind the feedback from my perspective. Hope this helps. Happy pole dancing.

Peekaboo Carmen Electra Pro Home Pole Dance Kit Review

I could have honestly put it up by myself actually its so easy especially with the instruction dvd which was awesome. But he was being nice and helping :) hehe. So easy to assemble!
I was originally looking at buying the X-pole that my friend has, and its one of the best out there but its also 300$ plus 30$ shipping! So I was hoping to find something cheaper but same quality, and almost lost hope till I found this!!!
It is extremely sturdy. I live in an aprtment with a somewhat not great ceiling. And though I don't know if I would recommend this to everyone because your carpet could be different from mine and not work since its prolly meant for hardwood floors...but I don't have hardwood floors big enough! So we put it on the carpet and it is just fine! So if you have the same problem and don't have a hardwood or concrete floor, try it on your carpet and just test it out to be sure its sturdy before using so you don't fall!
If I didn't live in an apartemtn (where I cannot put holes in the ceiling), I would screw it in. It gives you that option too, to screw it into the ceiling to make it stay put permanently(well until you unscrew it) so you wouldn't have to fear it falling if you are still worried about that or you're a bit heavy...although I doubt it will fall anyway. We put it up without the screws, just locked it into place and I was up on it without it budging! My husband weighs 175 lbs and jumped on it to test it to make sure, and it didn't budge either!
I am very beginner, but recommend this to anyone even the advanced or intructor! Its that great! I am now looking to purchase a dvd maybe, but look online. On youtube I found a slew of intructional videos with moves. I have already favorited 165 moves to learn from there! And bonus, thats free :)Try this one you will not be dissappointed. I mean if you have the money you could buy a more expensive one like the X-Pole or others that are up to 500$. But even if you could, why wouldn't you want to save money? Its not like you're settling for less, because this is just as good!!! Plus, you get the ease of portability, with the option of permanent.
If you are going to use it for portability you get a really great cute storage bag that is black with purple writing on it. Its very nice quality and was a nice gift with the purchase!
With this amazing pole, I will be advanced and upside down in no time! I already have a great figure but this will have me Carmen Electrified very soon. This really works you out and makes you very strong. I felt it after my first go on it!
