(More customer reviews)Bought a pair for my wife. After 6-12 days of light use dayhiking and snowhoeing, they will not lock anymore. I have another pair of hiking poles from REI that I have used much more heavily for several years without any problems whatsoever. I strongly advise that you try another brand.

The LEKI Thermolite Aergon trekking pole offers the ultimate combination of performance, light weight and durability. The poles are made from aircraft-grade aluminum and high modulus carbon, which are construct using a proprietary heat-treating (tempering) process to create a smaller diameter, thinner wall tubing. The individual pieces of the shaft are held together by Leki's Super Lock System (SLS), which provides a secure adjustment hold with the least amount of torque(hand strength required) for secure, reliable support. The carbide flextip can bend up to 30 degrees without damaging the pole shafts--a great choice for treks on rock and ice surfaces.
These poles come with the ergonomic, positive angle Aergon grips, which have an edgeless outer shape that can either be palmed or held traditionally for a variety of gripping options. The rubberized and dimpled top provides a comfortable, textured grip and it includes an integrated safety strap. The pole length is adjustable from 61 to 135cm (24 to 53 inches), and each weighs 15.2 ounces. They're backed by a 1-year limited warranty.
Trekking, sometimes referred to as hiking, is an outdoor activity that can take you to the highest mountain or around the local park. Adventure seekers who climb the world's tallest mountains, casual day hikers who follow a well-defined relatively flat path and active people looking for added support after surgery all benefit from the added balance and stability of LEKI poles.
