I'll start with the cons since they are fewer.
Cons:
*Somehow the line occasionally gets wound up in the mechanism inside. This requires tools to take it apart and unwind. This is what's happening when the line won't come out any farther and it stops winding either way.Really annoying since it requires at least 3 hands to accomplish.
*(not really con of toy, more so of operator) You have to be kind of careful aiming b/c the lures kind of hurt when they hit and dragging them across a cluttered table can be scary.
Pros:
*BOTH of my cats love it.(one will even sit by it and meow until we play)
*Even my chubby lazy cat will chase it and play. (He's not the dominant cat so he usually lays and watches while the other plays. with this toy he's not afraid to take it away from her if he wants to play) He actually starts panting.
*Great for lazy humans cuz you don't have to run around with them.
*Its fun to watch how adorable they are while you are "fishing for kitties"
Great toy, in the end worth the $$.

(More customer reviews)My cat loves this toy. The one I got is red and yellow and she loves the colors. I hang the pole on different windows so that she can jump and attack the fish. I put water on the bottom of the suction cup so it will stick better, when I don't, it falls off and scares the cat. I can also take the pole off so she can play with me and she loves that. One thing to be cautious of is if you hang the pole up, you need to supervise your cat. With the cat jumping and fish flopping everywhere, the sting can get twisted around their front leg and they can get stuck to the fish. It happened to my cat a few times. I always take mine down if I am leaving or can not supervise her.

Yes, it is cheap, but if you are going to buy it, save yourself the hassle of waiting for it...flush your cash down the toilet instead. It did not properly work, ever, even the very first time. And guess when it comepletely broke and fell apart? The second time of use. I have had many cheap fishing rods for my kids, and have never seen one that behaved as badly as this one. My rating is BOO-HISS.

(More customer reviews)My cats LOVE this toy. But in the span of 2 days, I had to return 3 of them because they kept breaking. This product is a total piece of junk. But there is hope!
Solution: Buy a child's fishing reel - those plastic ones with characters on them (maybe 10 bucks, max) and the replacement Catfisher Lures, or any sort of catnip mouse. Attach catnip mouse to child's fishing reel, and enjoy. Our Finding Nemo children's reel has lasted over a year, and we have to hide it when we aren't playing!
